IND v BAN 2019: WATCH- Wriddhiman Saha plucks one out of thin air to take a one-handed beauty of a catch

Wriddhiman Saha completed 100 dismissals in Test cricket.

Wriddhiman Saha completed 100 catches in Test cricket | ScreengrabThe Eden Gardens in Kolkata is hosting the historic pink-ball Test match between India and Bangladesh. This is the very first day-night Test match for both sides and BCCI has left no stone unturned to make it a special one.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly invited Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to ring the bell before the start of the Test match. Also present for the first day of the match were most of the former India Test captains and team members from the very first Test match between India and Bangladesh in 2000.

Meanwhile, Mominul Haque won the toss and chose to bat first and after a short period of lull, where Bangla batsmen tried to leave the ball and gauge how the pitch is and how much the ball is swinging. But then Ishant sent back Imrul Kayes and Umesh Yadav struck twice in one over to remove Mohammad Mithun and Mominul Haque to an amazing catch by Rohit Sharma in slips.

India’s amazing catching expertise was on display as the pink ball swung and moved away, making keeper Wriddhiman Saha work extra harder and he did an amazing work of collecting the ball cleanly. However, his moment came when Ishant Sharma had Mahmudullah edge one to Saha, who had to dive near Kohli in first slip as the ball moved and he managed to pouch it in the flap of the gloves.

He became the 5th Indian wicketkeeper in Tests to make 100 dismissals after MS Dhoni (294), Syed Kirmani (198), Kiran More (130), and Nayan Mongia (107).

Kohli and other fielders swarmed the Indian wicketkeeper and celebrated the catch. We have the video for the same.
