IND v BAN 2019: Sourav Ganguly promises a “good wicket” for historic day-night Test in Kolkata

As Kolkata’s Eden Garden all set to make history by hosting India’s first-ever Day-Night Test against Bangladesh, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has on Wednesday (November 13) assured of the quality wicket for the historic match on November 22, 2019.

Keeping in mind that the pink ball is known to be pace friendly, the Eden Gardens’ turf can be prepared the green top, but Ganguly – the man behind India’s historic Test match in Kolkata, has promised a “good wicket” for the day-night Test.

As per reports in PTI, the BCCI president when he was asked whether they are preparing a green top at Eden Gardens: “It will be a good wicket. It all depends on how the curator prepares the wicket.”

Ganguly further said the SG pink ball is different from kookaburra with a prominent seam, an indication that spinners will also have some role to play.

Meanwhile, the Cricket Association of Bengal has mega plans to make the historic occasion even more special, as the state body invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to grace the historic moment with their presence at Eden Gardens.

While around 10000 online tickets for the historic Test match India and Bangladesh sold out, the counter sale for the remainder of the tickets is likely to start from Friday, November 15. Ganguly signed off by saying, “It will be a full house.”
