Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir slammed Virat Kohli’s critics after the Indian star smashed a stunning century in the fourth and final Test against Australia in Ahmedabad on March 13, 2023.

After regaining his form in the limited-overs format in the Asia Cup 2022, it took more than six months for Kohli to find his mojo back in Test cricket. The former Indian skipper hit his first Test hundred after over three years to shut down all the trolls.

As Kohli faced a lot of flak for his century drought in Test cricket from the fans and many cricket experts, Amir slammed all the critics and hailed the right-hander for always bouncing back from the tough times after he played a brilliant knock of 186 runs in the Ahmedabad Test against Australia.

Mohammad Amir was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times:Who are these people who are criticising Kohli? I really don't understand. At the end of the day, he is human. It's not like he has a remote and you press the button every day and you get a hundred and Kohli will win the match for India. Every player goes through ups and downs.”

He added, “I know because there are certain days when I feel I am bowling well but I don't pick any wickets. And then many a times it is like I bowl bizarrely, probably a full toss or down-the-leg delivery, and I get a wicket. You need luck as well.”

Amir signed off by saying, “And you can never doubt Kohli for his hard work. He loves challenges. Every time he has been criticised, he has bounced back to prove them wrong.”
