Matthew Kuhnemann impressed one and all with his exploits in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Matthew Kuhnemann interacting with Ravindra Jadeja | TwitterDuring the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Australia’s left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann impressed one and all with his exploits.

Kuhnemann made his debut in the second Test in Delhi and finished the series with nine scalps to his name, including a five-wicket haul to script Australia’s only victory in the series in Indore.

After the series got over on Monday (March 13) with the drawn Ahmedabad Test, Kuhnemann got an opportunity to meet Ravindra Jadeja and received some “awesome tips” from India’s star all-rounder.

"It was probably about 15 minutes, he (Jadeja) was just giving me some awesome tips; we talked about everything," Kuhnemann was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.

“He gave me some good tips for the next time we're in the subcontinent and some tips to go back home with as well,” he added.

Matthew Kuhnemann was not part of Australia’s original touring party. He was flown in as a replacement for leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson, who flew back home for the birth of his first child ahead of the second Test.

It was Australia's veteran spinner Nathan Lyon who arranged the meeting between Kuhnemann and Jadeja after the Ahmedabad Test.

"Nathan Lyon helped organise it as well. He (Jadeja) was really impressed with Todd, 'Gaz' and myself so that was really cool to hear that from him.

"He was really nice and just said any time to reach out, and even sent me a message on Instagram, so that was pretty cool," he stated.

Talking about the Test series, India clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy by a margin of 2-1. While the hosts won the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi, they suffered a nine-wicket defeat in the third Test before the fourth game ended in a draw.
