IND v AUS 2023: Pictures of Ahmedabad pitch emerge on social media, both teams in dilemma over the nature of track

The fourth and final Test is due to get underway on March 9.

The Ahmedabad pitch is the center of attention ahead of fourth Test | TwitterThe pitches served for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia has become a major talking point with all three Tests getting over inside three days.

While the surfaces for the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi have received “average” rating, the strip for the third Test in Indore has been rated “poor” by the International Cricket Council.

No wonder, the Ahmedabad pitch is the center of attention ahead of the fourth Test. However, it seems like a decision over the nature of the track hasn't been made yet.

A few pictures from the stadium have surfaced on the internet but the visiting camp hasn't been able to plan its strategy for the series-decider.

Meanwhile, the curators have reportedly not received any instruction from the Indian team management or the BCCI about the preparation of the pitch, which suggests that the home side is also in dilemma over the sort of pitch they want to prepare.

"We haven't received any instructions from the Indian team management and our local curators are preparing a normal track, as we have always done through the season," a state association source was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.

"Obviously, (over the) last few days the BCCI's grounds and pitches committee instruct the local curator ... but, certainly, from our end, our endeavour is to produce a good Test match pitch."

After losing the first two Tests, Australia bounced back strongly in the third Test, beating India by nine wickets in Indore to reduce the deficit to 1-2.

The fourth and final Test is due to get underway on March 9.
