IND v AUS 2023: BCCI retains same India squad for last two Tests; ODI squad announced, Hardik Pandya to lead in 1st match

Three ODIs will be played on March 17 in Mumbai, March 19 in Vizag, and March 22 in Chennai.

KL Rahul gets more chances to prove himself | GettyThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Sunday, February 19, 2023, announced the India team's squads for the remaining two Tests against Australia and for the three-match ODI series as well, which will follow the Tests.

The third Test between India and Australia will be played in Indore from March 1 onwards and the fourth Test will be played in Ahmedabad from March 9 onwards.

Many had expected a few changes in the Test side, especially in the batting department due to the continuous failures of opener KL Rahul, but the BCCI has decided to retain the same squad which was named for the first and second Tests.

Meanwhile, while announcing the India squad for the ODI series, which will be played on March 17 in Mumbai, March 19 in Vizag, and March 22 in Chennai, the BCCI announced that vice-captain Hardik Pandya will lead the team in the 1st match as Rohit Sharma will be unavailable due to family commitments.

The squad sees Ravindra Jadeja making his ODI return and will join Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Akshar Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal in the spin department. While Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Umran Malik were retained from New Zealand ODIs, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat made his ODI return since last playing a 50-over game in 2013.

Batting sees the same faces in Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan along with Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.
