The first two days of the second Test match between India and Australia have had their moments with players from both sides managing to share a laugh despite the intensity of the contest in the middle. Something similar was seen on day one between Virat Kohli and Usman Khawaja.
Australia was bowled out for 263 in the first innings with Khawaja top-scoring with 81 and Peter Handscomb making 72*. For India, Mohammad Shami took 4 wickets and Ashwin and Jadeja shared three each.
In the 29th over of the Australian innings, Kohli was actively involved in the scheme of things and was heard giving Ashwin some advice as he was bowling to a settled Khawaja. After Ashwin bowled a dot ball to Khawaja off the third delivery, Kohli from the first slip was seen saying something to Ashwin.
As per the video, his words in Hindi were 'Ash… yeh maar raha hai' (Ash… he is going to hit you) while making a gesture with his hand. This was acknowledged by Usman Khawaja with a broad smile towards Kohli.
Kohli then realized that Khawaja was born in Pakistan and knows Urdu, a language similar to Hindi, and had figured out what he said to the Indian spinner. This led to Kohli letting out a huge laugh and clapping his hands as well.
