IND v AUS 2020: Rohit Sharma injures his right thumb ahead of first ODI in Mumbai

The 1st ODI will be played on Jan 14 in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma | PTIIndian opener Rohit Sharma who will be making his comeback into the Indian team after being rested for the Sri Lanka T20I series gave the fans an injury scare during a net session at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

India and Australia will battle it out at the iconic ground on Jan 14 in the first ODI and PTI reported that the opener was tended to by India physio Nitin Patel after he was hit on the thumb of his right hand while having a net session.

Rohit managed to eclipse the Indian skipper Virat Kohli to finish 2019 as the highest run-getter in One-Day International cricket. Rohit amassed a total of 1490 runs came at an average of 57.03 with a strike rate of 89.92, comprising seven centuries and six half-centuries.

It will also be interesting who will partner Rohit in the first ODI at the top of the batting order-KL Rahul, who has been amazing for India lately, or Shikhar Dhawan, who made a fifty against Sri Lanka as he made a comeback after his knee injury.
