Afghanistan has received a major setback ahead of their maiden Test against India, as their premier fast-bowler Dawlat Zadran ahs been ruled out for one month after suffering a knee injury on 27 May (Sunday).

With the knee injury that he sustained during training at Greater Noida, India, the right-arm pacer will not feature in Afghanistan’s upcoming series – Bangladesh T20 Internationals and maiden Test in Bangalore, advising rest for at least one month, confirmed by the Afghan Cricket Board (ACB).

Afghanistan and Bangladesh are scheduled to play three T20Is in Dehradun starting from 3 June followed by historic one-off Test against India, to be played from June 14-18 in Bengaluru.

Zadran, who is capable of hitting 140 kmph, has taken 137 wickets from 105 international matches so far and was in good form with the ball, but his injury has given serious worry to Afghanistan ahead of their Bangladesh and India series.

On 27 May (Sunday), ACB went on their official social media handle to confirm the new regarding Zadran, tweeted, “Fast bowler @dawlat_zadarn suffered a knee injury during the training camp in India. He has been advised one month's rest by doctors. Therefore, he will not be available for the T20I series against Bangladesh as well as Afghanistan's one-off Test against India.”
