Pakistan cricket fans are furious over the poor performance by Babar Azam and co in the three-match ODI series against a second-string England team. England's initial squad got isolated after the COVID-19 scare in the camp and they had to arrange another squad in a very short time for the limited-overs series against Pakistan.
The visitors didn't look threatening at all and Ben Stokes-led side emerged victorious in all three matches comfortably. Pakistan did put on a fight in the third ODI. Batting first, they scored 331/9 in 50 overs which was their best performance in the series.
It was captain Babar's 158 runs knock that allowed Pakistan to score over 300, while Mohammad Rizwan added 74 runs. But England still managed to chase down 332 runs in 48 overs with 7 wickets down on Tuesday (July 13). James Vince scored his maiden ton and helped England win the match despite half of the side down on 165 runs.
The performance by Pakistan infuriated the fans. The outrage was not only by the fans on social media but the Pakistan supporters, who paid a high amount to watch them play in the stadium. They slammed Pakistan's coach Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis for the terrible outing in England.
Some of the fans even joked that the Pakistan cricket team is missing opponents like Zimbabwe to continue their winning run.
