Rohit Sharma may not play in India's upcoming Test series against England later this year. India will play five Tests against England, beginning June 20 in Headingley, with the goal of winning their first away series in the Old Blighty since 2007.

The 37-year-old's future with the Indian side was called into question when he scored only 164 runs in ten Test matches between September 2024 and January 2025. It includes his dismal tour of Australia, where he scored 31 runs at 6.2, the lowest ever average for a touring captain Down Under.

After the veteran hitter withdrew from the Sydney Test, there was conjecture that he would retire. However, Rohit stated that he has no intention of retiring from Test cricket.

As per the India Today report, Rohit Sharma has decided not to be a part of the upcoming England Test series after his lackluster performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The same report claimed that unlike Rohit, Virat Kohli is set to retain his spot in the Test squad.

Virat, on the other hand, got a century in the second innings in the Perth Test but was unable to make a significant score elsewhere. Rohit and Virat made their comebacks in the Ranji Trophy but were unable to score much.

India's tour of England begins on June 20 with the first Test at Headingley in Leeds. Edgbaston, Lord's, Old Trafford, and Kennington Oval will host the remaining four Tests.
