Maharashtra opener Prithvi Shaw engaged in an ugly spat with his former Mumbai teammates after being dismissed for a magnificent 181 during a warm-up fixture at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
Shaw was dismissed by Musheer Khan, who is the younger brother of India batter Sarfaraz Khan. After getting the prized scalp, Musheer gave Prithvi a send-off, which left the latter furious.
Prithvi Shaw was so angry that he tried to hit Musheer with his bat. The match officials had to intervene to pull Shaw away from the altercation. Later, Shaw was stopped by Mumbai veteran Siddhesh Lad, and the duo continued to have a heated exchange.
Here’s the video:
Opening the innings alongside Arshin Kulkarni, Prithvi Shaw notched up his three-figure mark in 140 balls. He started carefully, reaching his fifty in 84 deliveries before putting a pedal on the accelerator.
The opening pair shared a massive 305-run stand before Kulkarni's innings ended at 186 off 139 balls.
Shaw shifted his domestic based to Maharashtra after he received a No-Objection Certificate from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) earlier this year. The change of team seems to have revived his batting form.
