India pacer Umran Malik made a stunning comeback to cricket in Jammu and Kashmir's match against Odisha in the Buchi Babu tournament.
Notably, Umran made his first appearance since March 2024, when he participated in an IPL match for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the Mumbai Indians.
Umran was signed by KKR for his base fee of Rs 75 lakhs after being released from SRH. Before the season began, in March, the reigning champions announced Chetan Sakariya as their successor after he was sidelined by an injury.
Malik returned to cricket with a bang, giving his team a dream start by dismissing Odisha openers Binaya K and Om T. Munde in three deliveries in his first two overs.
Munde attempted to block Umran's delivery on the fifth ball of the over, but the ball struck the inside edge of his bat before rattling the stumps. Then Umran used a jaffa to send Binaya's middle stump reeling on the first ball of his second over.
