Hardik Pandya has been on fire with the bat in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2024 for Baroda. He has smacked the living daylights of the opposition bowlers, scoring at a scary strike rate.
He scored 74* in 35 balls against Gujarat, made 41* in 21 balls against Uttarakhand, hammered 69 in 30 balls against Tamil Nadu, and in the most recent game against Tripura, Hardik Pandya made 47 in 23 balls.
The match was played at the Holkar Stadium, Indore and Baroda captain Krunal Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first in the day game.
Tripura could only manage 109/9 in their 20 overs. Captain Mandeep Singh made 50 in 40 balls, while Sankar Paul and Parvez Sultan were the only other batters to get into double figures. Akash Singh picked three wickets for Baroda, while Krunal took two scalps.
In response, Mitesh Patel remained unbeaten on 37 in 24 balls, while Tripura managed to get Ninad Rathva and Shivalik Sharma for cheap. But then entered Hardik Pandya and his whirlwind knock of 47 in 23 balls, brought the match to a quick end.
He was particularly severe on left-arm spinner Parvez Sultan, as in the 10th over bowled by him, Hardik smashed him for 4 sixes and one boundary.
