India’s talented batter Prithvi Shaw has been breathing fire in the ongoing Metro Bank One-day Cup in the UK, as after smashing a record double-hundred against Somerset on August 9, he continued in the same vein against Durham on August 13, 2023, and smashed an unbeaten century.
Then Shaw had smashed 244 in 153 balls against Somerset and that innings contained 28 boundaries and 11 sixes.
This match between Northamptonshire and Durham was played at the Riverside Ground, Chester-Le-Street, and saw the home side captain Alex Lees winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
However, none of the batters could reach the half-century mark as Liam Trevaskis (37), Lees (34), Scott Borthwick, and Migael Pretorius with 20 each were the main scorers as Durham posted 198 in 43.2 overs.
For Northants, Luke Procter picked 4/34 and Rob Keogh took two wickets.

In response, George Drissell removed Emilio Gay (17) and Sam Whiteman (4). But Prithvi Shaw kept hammering the Durham bowlers to all parts of the ground at the other end. He reached his second consecutive century in the tournament in just 68 balls.
This knock contained an over by Scott Borthwick in which Shaw hammered 2 sixes and 3 fours to take 24 runs off it.
He got the support from Rob Keogh (42) and Shaw took the team home scoring 125* in 76 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes with a strike-rate of 164.47 to his name as Northants reached the target of 199 in just 25.4 overs.
