England Cricket Board’s (ECB) brainchild ‘The Hundred’, the new 100-ball format is currently going on in the UK with a lot of English and overseas players participating in the tournament. New Zealand batter Finn Allen is one of them as he is a part of franchise Birmingham Phoenix.

Allen grabbed headlines after he posted a photo of himself posing with a bat in the Birmingham based franchise’s jersey. But what caught everyone’s attention was the toe end of Allen’s bat, where Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s name was clearly visible, even though misspelt as 'Virat Kholi'.

Jos Buttler says that more things will unravel as The Hundred goes on

The 22-year-old was picked by Virat Kohli-led IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after Josh Philippe declared himself unavailable for the 2021 season. Even though he is yet to make his IPL debut, Allen had 512 runs to his name at an average of 56 with a fantastic strike-rate of 193 in New Zealand’s Super Smash T20 competition last season.

As far as the Indian skipper is concerned, the right-hand batsman is currently preparing in the UK for the upcoming five-match Test series against hosts England slated to begin from 4 August at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

While India played a warm-up game against Select County XI at Durham, the Delhi-based batsman ended up missing out on the three-day game owing to his stiff back.
