Pakistan’s star fast bowler Hassan Ali will be leaving the Pakistan Super League (PSL) bubble in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), as he pulled out of the remaining PSL 2021 due to personal reasons.
The Islamabad United pacer will not be available for the remainder of the PSL 06 due to family commitments, as he is returning to Pakistan from Abu Dhabi to be with his family in this testing time of COVID-19 and the franchise supported Ali’s decision.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday (June 12), Islamabad United announced Ali’s unavailability by saying: “He will be returning to Pakistan due to family commitments. He will miss the remainder of the PSL 6. We completely support his decision to prioritize his family in these times. We wish him the best of luck.”
Hassan Ali said on his decision to leave PSL 06 midway: “I want to say to all Islamabad United fans, unfortunately, due to personal reasons I have to pull out of the remaining PSL matches. Some things are more important than cricket and nothing is more important than family.
I am thankful to Islamabad United for their support and understanding. This team truly is a family that stands with you through thick and thin. I wish the team the very best of luck for the remaining PSL matches.”
Meanwhile, the IU skipper Shadab Khan said, “We understand Hasan’s situation right now, family always comes first. We wish Hassan the very best of luck. He will obviously be a huge loss to our team and the tournament, but some things are more important than cricket. At Islamabad United, we have always looked after each other like a family and we will continue to do so.”

On the other hand, Islamabad United Owner, Ali Naqvi backed Ali’s decision by saying: “unfortunately Hassan will be leaving the group in the coming days. He has been a great leader and performer for the franchise this season, but we have always had the belief in Islamabad United that our professional commitments are subservient to our personal commitments.”
He concluded, “When we say we are a family we truly mean it, and nothing is more important to a person than his family. We wish Hassan the best of luck, and we wholeheartedly support this decision.”
