Mumbai got an unpleasant sight during the final against Uttar Pradesh in New Delhi on Sunday (March 14). Their captain Prithvi Shaw was carried off the field after being hit on the shin.
The unfortunate incident happened in the 24th over of Uttar Pradesh's innings. Shaw was fielding in the first slip when the ball hit him on the shin after opener Madhav Kaushik slapped a delivery off leg-spinner Prashant Solanki.
The 21-year-old was trying to stop the ball but got himself in trouble. He seemed to be in trouble after being hit on the left leg's shin and was carried off the field by the physio and his teammates.
Shaw is the highest run-getter of the tournament with 754 runs before the final at an average of 188.50. He has scored three centuries and one double century this season.
The Mumbai captain had scored his double hundred against Pondicherry. He became the 8th Indian batsman to score a double-century in List A cricket. The list includes Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shikhar Dhawan, and Karn Kaushal.
