Opting to bat first, Mumbai got off to a brilliant start as the duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Prithvi Shaw added 71 runs for the opening wicket. SK Sharma drew the first blood for Rajasthan by removing Shaw on 36 in the 11th over.

Shaw’s dismissal led to Iyer’s arrival at the crease and the Mumbai captain once again proved his mettle with the bat. He shared a 96-run stand for the third wicket with Sarfaraz Khan (30) and followed it up with a 56-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav (29).

In the process, Shreyas Iyer notched up his 8th ton in List A cricket. Ravi Bishnoi ended his innings in the 46th over but not before the right-hander scored 116 off 103 balls (11 fours and 3 sixes) to propel Mumbai to a massive 317/7 in 50 overs.

It was Iyer’s second successive ton in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He had smashed 103 not out to guide Mumbai to a six-wicket win over Maharashtra in his last appearance.

Brief Scores:

Mumbai 317/7 in 50 overs (Shreyas Iyer 116; Yashasvi Jaiswal 38) versus Rajasthan (SK Sharma 3-59; Abhimanyu Lamba 2-66)
