The BCCI selection committee had announced the Indian team squad for the upcoming five T20I matches against England, which begins on March 12 at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera in Ahmedabad.
Apart from the returns of Rohit Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the squad, three new players also received their maiden India call-ups- Ishan Kishan, Rahul Tewatia, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Ishan Kishan had celebrated his call-up a few moments before the selection came as he slammed 173 in 94 balls for Jharkhand against Madhya Pradesh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021.
Today on February 21, 2021, Rahul Tewatia and Suryakumar Yadav also celebrated their call-ups in style by hitting half-centuries in their respective matches.

Haryana faced Chandigarh in a Group E encounter and Haryana batted first and made 299/9 at the Videocon Academy Ground in Kolkata.
While Himanshu Rana made 102 and Arun Chaprana made 50, it was Rahul Tewatia who powered his team near 300 runs in 50 overs. Tewatia slammed 73 runs in only 39 balls which included 4 fours and 6 sixes at a strike rate of 187.18.
On the other hand, Mumbai faced Delhi at the Jaipuria Vidhyalaya Ground, Jaipur. Delhi batted first and posted 211 in 50 overs with Himmat Singh making 106*.
In reply, Mumbai won the match easily by 7 wickets and almost 18 overs to spare as Prithvi Shaw slammed 105* in 89 balls. Suryakumar Yadav, who earned his maiden India call-up also celebrated with 50 in 33 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes, as Mumbai got an easy win.
