IPL 2021: "My mother was visionary," Dinesh Karthik jokingly recalls his mother's advise after auction

South Africa's Chris Morris was sold at the highest price in the auction at INR 16.25 crore.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 auction saw franchises spending a heavy amount on bowlers. The high bidding for the pacers made Dinesh Karthik regret not listening to his mother's advice.

After the IPL 2021 auction, Karthik posted a funny tweet recalling his parents' suggestion while picking cricket as his profession. He said his mother had told him to become a fast bowler. while his father wanted him to become a batsman.

Karthik ended up choosing his father's suggestion and the wicket-keeper batsman jokingly added he now realizes how visionary his mother was.

"My mom had suggested me to become a fast bowler, but I ended up listening to my dad. My mom always had the vision in the house, it’s pretty obvious now, isn’t it", joked the Kolkata Knight Riders member.

Chris Morris was sold to Rajasthan Royals for 16.25 crore, while Kyle Jamieson (15 crore), Jhye Richardson (14 crore) also received a heavy price.
