West Indies explosive batsman Chris Gayle was unstoppable against Maratha Arabians on Wednesday (February 3) in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league. He smashed an unbeaten 84 off 22 balls to help Team Abu Dhabi win the match by 9 wickets.

Abu Dhabi chased down the target of 98 runs in just 5.3 overs after Gayle smashed 9 sixes and 6 fours in his innings. 78 of his 84 runs came through boundaries.

Gayle scored the half-century in just 12 deliveries and equaled the record of the fastest half-century in T10 history. Waseem Muhammad of Northern Warriors also hit a 12-ball fifty yesterday. Mohammad Shahzad too had scored a half-century in 12 deliveries for Rajputs in the 2018 edition.

The 41-year-old was having a poor outing in the ongoing tournament. He had failed to reach the double-digits in any of the last four matches before this knock. His scores were 4 (vs Gladiators), 5 (vs Qalandars), 9 (vs Pune Devils), and 2 (vs Warriors).

Gayle looked very determined to get runs in this match after back-to-back failures. A smile came on his face only after completing the task and he was happy to get his touch back.
