The Hundred has had a couple of full-squad changes even before the first edition of the tournament has unfolded. In the latest piece of news, Welsh Fire have let go of the Australian superstars Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc.
Fire has retained Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton and Ollie Pope among a few others. Other major superstars like Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell, Kane Williamson and Mark Wood have been re-signed by their respective franchises for the tournament in 2021.

The franchises had the option to retain their players at a negotiable salary which could have been higher or lower than the pre-decided one for the season that could not be conducted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The retention window has now been closed and the teams will pick players in the draft scheduled on February 23.
