England batsman Alex Hales has made it clear that he is currently enjoying his cricket and isn’t really thinking about the recall to the national side, rather, just focusing on winning the trophy for Sydney Thunder in the ongoing 10th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2020-21 in Australia.
The wicketkeeper-batsman was dropped from England's 2019 World Cup squad for failing a second test for use of the recreational drug. He last played for England in March 2019 before the World Cup.
However, the 32-year-old has been playing domestic cricket and is currently in Australia where he has taken the ongoing BBL 10 by storm with his sizzling batting performances for Sydney Thunder. Hales is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing BBL 10 with 462 runs from 12 innings for Thunder.
On Friday, January 22, Hales cracked a 51-ball century (110 from 56 balls) to help Thunder post a record total of 232 runs to beat the Sydney Sixers in a BBL 2020-21 contest at Adelaide Oval.

After his explosive innings, former England captain Michael Vaughan has batted for the swashbuckling batsman’s return to England side, saying the right-hander deserves another chance.
He wrote on Twitter: “Come on... He deserves to get another chance... time should be a great healer... @AlexHales has just struck 100 off 51 balls.”
Reacting to Vaughan’s comments, Hales said if he “gets another crack at international level then great”, but he isn’t thinking about it at all right now, as his focus is only on enjoying cricket and see Sydney Thunder winning the BBL title this year.
Hales was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au: “He loves his Twitter. I learned to sort of avoiding social media, to be honest. It was something I used to look at a lot, but I just want to focus on enjoying my cricket and contributing to winning teams.”
He signed off by saying, “If I get another crack at international level then great, and if not then I'm going to keep enjoying cricket. At the moment, I'm not thinking about it.”
