Tom Westley, the Essex captain on Wednesday, issued an apology over the offense caused during their celebration in the Bob Willis Trophy. Westley had poured the beer over Feroze Khushi, a Muslim member of the team while celebrating.
In his apology, Westley said, “We would like to apologize for any offense that was caused during our celebrations at Lord's on Sunday.”
He ensured that they have built a very good dressing room culture. "At Essex, we believe we have built a strong dressing room culture that supports on another both on and off the field.", the apology post read.

“(We) will continue to learn and develop with the help of the ECB and the PCA,” Westley said. The official Twitter account of the Essex shared the statement on the micro-blogging site.
Essex's East London Cricket Coordinator, Arfan Akram lauded the club for dealing the issue rightly.
