Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Tridents faced each other in the 9th game of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 in Trinidad on Sunday (August 23).
Asked to bat first, Knight Riders posted 185/3 in 20 overs on the back of Darren Bravo’s 36-ball 54* and Colin Munro’s 30-ball 50. Skipper Kieron Pollard also played a valuable knock of 41* in just 17 balls.
Ashley Nurse was the stand-out bowler for Tridents, claiming 1 wicket for 20 runs in his four overs.
In reply, Tridents could manage 166/6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Except for Johnson Charles (52 off 33 balls), none of the Barbados batsmen managed to touch the 40-run mark.
Sunil Narine (1/17), Fawad Ahmed (1/14) and Khary Pierre (1/19) claimed one wicket each and were quite economical with the ball for Knight Riders.

In the 10th match of the tournament played on the same day, Guyana Amazon Warriors locked horns with St Lucia Zouks in Trinidad.
Opting to bat first, Zouks posted 144/7 on the board with significant contribution coming from Roston Chase (66 off 51 balls).
Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowler for Guyana, taking three wickets by conceding only 22 runs in his four overs.
In the chase, Guyana’s batting line-up fell like pack of cards. Nichols Pooran was the lone warrior with the bat, scoring 68 off 49 balls.
Scott Kuggeleijn (3/24), Mohammad Nabi (1/17), Chemar Holder (2/32) and Kesrick Williams (2/32) were outstanding with the ball for Zouks as they restricted Guyana to 134/8 in 20 overs.
