After postponing the IPL 2020, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to put on hold all the domestic tournaments and matches until further notice as a precautionary measure in the wake of the deadly coronavirus that has been spreading in the country and worldwide at a rapid pace.
The BCCI has already postponed the two remaining ODI matches between India and South Africa that were to be held in Lucknow in Kolkata on March 15 and March 18 respectively.

"In view of the ongoing Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) outbreak, the BCCI on Saturday announced that all matches of the Paytm Irani Cup, Senior Women One-Day Knockout, Vizzy Trophy, Senior Women One-Day Challenger, Women Under 19 One-Day knockout, Women’s Under 19 T20 League, Super League and knockout, Women Under 19 T20 Challenger Trophy, Women Under 23 knockout, Women’s Under 23 One-Day Challenger have been put on hold till further notice," BCCI said in a statement.
The BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah also met with owners of the eight IPL franchises to discuss the fate of the IPL 13, given that the Indian government had banned the entry of foreigners in the country until April 15. The coronavirus which has claimed over 5,000 lives worldwide, has led to the cancelation of many sporting events across the globe.
The remaining ODI matches of the Australia-New Zealand Chappell-Hadlee series have been canceled. The following 3-T20I series between the neighbors in New Zealand starting March 24 in Dunedin was also postponed. England also called off their Test series against Sri Lanka as well.
