Fans had thronged at the SMS Stadium in Jaipur on December 26, 2025, to watch the Mumbai v Uttarakhand Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 match only for one thing. That was to see their beloved Rohit Sharma bat and enthrall them.

Rohit Sharma has been in grand form and has smashed 155 runs in Mumbai’s first game at the venue against Sikkim. Much was expected from Rohit Sharma in the second game as well.  The match marked only Rohit’s second Vijay Hazare Trophy appearance in eight years.

However, for fans, it was a day of huge disappointment as Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck on the first ball he faced.

At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rohit Sharma made a golden duck in his second Vijay Hazare Trophy game for Mumbai this season. Devendra Singh Bora, a 25-year-old fast bowler, dismissed Rohit when he attempted his signature pull shot to a short ball.

Rohit top-edged the ball to fine leg, where Jagmohan Nagarkoti took a catch in his second attempt. Rohit Sharma was highly dejected as he walked off the field to complete silence in the stadium.

On Friday, December 26, hundreds of spectators showed up to watch Rohit play in the domestic match. In order to witness their favorite celebrity, some of them were even spotted traveling to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium as early as six in the morning local time, despite the bitter cold.

Virat Kohli also featured as Delhi played their second VHT game against Gujarat at the CoE in Bengaluru. Delhi batted first and scored 254/9 in 50 overs. Virat Kohli scored a fluid 77 in 61 balls with 13 fours and one six and looked good in the middle. Rishabh Pant also showed good form, scoring 70 with 8 fours and two sixes, while Harsh Tyagi made 40 runs.
