CWC 2019: India has a better bowling unit than Pakistan, admits Younis Khan

There is a sense of anticipation again regarding the Indo-Pak World Cup game.

Looking forward to the much-awaited Indo-Pak World Cup 2019 clash on June 16 at Manchester, former Pakistan batsman Younis Khan hailed India's bowling prowess and rated it even higher than the one his own countrymen possess at the moment. He believes that could see Virat Kohli's men come out triumphant against Sarfaraz Ahmed & co that day.

"India have a better bowling attack than Pakistan. 3 to 4 of their pacers can bowl over 140, 145+ kmph. India also have quality spinners. Bowlers will win you 60 to 70 per cent matches," Younis told India Today

"(Jasprit) Bumrah can surely be the most successful bowler in the 2019 World Cup. He is a specialist bowler across formats."

Harbhajan Singh, the veteran India off-spinner, then took a jibe at lopsided contests that have taken place between the two Asian giants in World Cups for a while now and stressed that people are more excited about the India-England contests more these days.

"India vs Pakistan is not as big as India vs England. Maybe from the media perspective, India vs Pakistan is more hyped up. But from a cricketing aspect, India vs England is more important. India can beat this Pakistan team 9 and a half times out of 10 times," he said.

However, former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq still thinks that India-Pakistan offers the kind of spectacle no other rivalry does and one should never take a result from granted as anything can happen on a day.

"Logically, Bhajji is right but Pakistan is a dangerous team. In cricket, you cannot say anything. This Pakistan team is capable. There was a collapse in the last match. India have a better chance. As he said, India and England are the two favourites."

"Given the rivalry, intensity... You never know what can happen in World Cups. Pakistan were strong in the 1990s yet India would win every time in World Cups," Misbah said.
