The 24-year-old Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali was the focal point in Pakistan’s squad in their Champions Trophy triumph two years ago picking 13 wickets and finishing as the Man of the Tournament.
But as Pakistan is just a day away from their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 opener against West Indies, they are bit worry owing to Hasan Ali’s poor form in recent time.
Hasan Ali who is now bit experienced in international cricket says he knows how to bowl flat pitches of England and Wales. "The way modern cricket is going, every bowler needs to know that taking wickets is the key," Hasan said. "You take wickets and you win matches."
Known for his abilities to dismantle middle order, Hasan Ali took 45 wickets in 2017, most in a calendar year, to rose to the top of bowler’s chart.
But in his recent form, he has managed just three wickets in four matches against England, in which England white-washed Pakistan by 4-0, earlier this May.
"I know that I have not taken many wickets since the South Africa tour, but I am doing the hard work with bowling coach (Azhar Mahmood) and once I get my rhythm I am sure wickets will come my way," said Hasan.
He added, "We know that our bowling, which has been our strength, is not doing well but with the return of two experienced bowlers in Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir our bowling is now at full strength,"
Amir had to miss the last four matches in series against England due to chicken pox
Wahab Riaz got his lucky world cup call after not being in the preliminary squad, due to Junaid Khan poor form.
