India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has stated that he is not satisfied with the T20 World Cup 2024 and the recent ICC Champions Trophy 2025 wins and still needs 5-6 more trophies in his cabinet. Pandya also recalled the heartbreak when he couldn’t finish the job for India in the 2017 CT final.

That day, a young Pandya smashed a blistering 76 off 43 balls, but India fell to a crushing 180-run defeat. Pandya found redemption in 2025, playing a crucial role in the death overs with an 18 off 18 that helped secure India’s victory.

"In 2017, the work was left. You know I could not finish the job back then. And I am very, very glad that tonight is the night where I can say that you know what, I am a Champions Trophy winner as well. So, sounds good I think," Hardik was quoted as saying by ICC.

While celebrating his victory, Pandya remained determined and ambitious. The achievement is only another step in his drive for greatness, as he has openly professed a desire to win additional championships.

"For me, it has always been about winning as many championships as I can. I did say when we won in 2024 that this is not done, I still need 5-6 more trophies there. I am very happy that one more is added," Pandya said.

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup title, and now the Champions Trophy, have spurred Pandya's desire for greater accomplishments, and he is far from satiated. As a senior player and captain in the group, he is extremely proud of how his team worked together to secure the victory.

"The most important thing in my life and my cricketing journey has always been about how I can make sure that my team can win," he emphasized.

Pandya has set his eyes on his goal, the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 which will be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka. As defending champions, the Men in Blue will attempt to maintain their supremacy in familiar territory.

"I love wins like this where everyone comes there, puts their heart out and you know I think this was for India, this was for Bharat. The Champions Trophy is done, next goal ICC T20 World Cup in India, lifting the cup," Pandya declared.

Hardik Pandya will be seen in action when he leads Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025,whicht begins on March 22.
