Apart from his graceful batting, Rohit Sharma is fan-favorite for his wit and humour. The Indian skipper was in his elements in the team’s Champions Trophy 2025 opener against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday (February 20).
Rohit’s epic reaction went viral on the internet when KL Rahul’s catch was spilled by Jaker Ali in the 37th over of India’s chase.
For context, Rohit had dropped an easy catch of Ali at first slip to deny Axar Patel a hat-trick in the first innings.
As Rahul got a reprieve in the 37th over, the Indian captain was seen making hilarious gestures from the dugout, seemingly suggesting that he dropped Ali’s catch and the Bangladesh cricketer gave his teammate a lifeline.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma played a quickfire knock of 41 in 36 balls to give India a strong start in the chase of 229. He added 69 runs for the opening wicket with Shubman Gill, who was batting on 87 at the time of writing this article with India needing 22 more runs to get over the line.
