BCCI shared a heartwarming video of India captain Rohit Sharma paying an ode to the Indian team's fans ahead of their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 opening match in Dubai against Bangladesh on February 20, 2025.
Rohit Sharma recalled their win in the T20 World Cup 2024 and the reception they received when they returned to India. He then shared a message for Indian fans in which he thanked them for their support and memorable reception.
The 37-year-old right-handed batter, who is hoping to win another ICC trophy in his role as captain of India, stated that the Indian side is ready for the 2025 Champions Trophy and wants to win the championship again.
“From Barbados to India—we were made to feel like champions, and we felt like champions. Along with us, I am sure you felt like champions too. Months later, we begin our quest to become champions once again. We have trained, and tournament mandates are done, now it is time to go all out on the field. For the team, for you fans, and for the nation that will be chanting our names, as always. So, let’s do this again, you & us—let’s be champions together," Rohit said in a BCCI video.

In terms of games won and championships, India is the most successful team in the history of the Champions Trophy. Under Virat Kohli's leadership, India advanced to the final of the most recent Champions Trophy, which was held at several locations in England and Wales, but they were unable to take home the trophy.
In the Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team is placed in Group A with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. After today’s match against Bangladesh, India will clash with Pakistan on February 23 and then New Zealand on March 2.
