India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been Rohit Sharma’s go-to guy in the entire BGT 2024 Test series. The pacer is the highest wicket-taker in the series and the ongoing 4th Test in Melbourne, has already taken 8 wickets to keep India in the game.

After taking 4/99 in the first innings, where Australia scored 474 runs, Jasprit Bumrah gave it his all in the second innings as well.

Australia was teetering at 91/6 thanks to three wickets each by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj rattling their top and middle order. However, with Marnus Labuschagne’s 70 and 41 by Pat Cummins, the hosts made a good comeback.

Even the last wicket pair of Nathan Lyon (41*) and Scott Boland (10*) have added 55* runs as Australia ended day 4 on 228/9 with a lead of 333 runs.

Rohit Sharma undoubtedly exploited Bumrah effectively in short stints, but with Australia's tailenders on fire, the Indian skipper had no alternative but to bring his main man back. The fast bowler bowled almost 9 stints in the second innings, which took a lot out of him.

Many people were surprised when Rohit Sharma asked Jasprit Bumrah to bowl one more over during his eighth period. However, this was perhaps the first time the fast bowler said no to this, as the team's vice-captain was clearly fatigued.

'Bas ab, nahi lag raha aur zor,"- Bumrah told Rohit after India skipper asked him to bowl an over.
