India cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s safety was in danger on day 2 of the ongoing fourth BGT 2024 Test in Melbourne, as a pitch invader first hugged Virat Kohli and tried to do the same to Rohit Sharma.
An intruder managed to get past security at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and attempted to embrace batting sensation Virat Kohli during the morning session of the current fourth Test match between Australia and India.
The attacker eluded the security guards and an enraged Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, who avoided him completely.
Security staff immediately sprang into action and took the man off the field after the incident briefly delayed the proceedings. It was obvious that Kohli was not thrilled with the way things had gone.

Australia had made 474 thanks to Steve Smith’s 140 and his 112-run partnership with Pat Cummins. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 82 led the charge for India, with KL Rahul (24) and Virat Kohli (36) contributing as well. But three quick wickets just before stumps meant that India finished on 164/5 on day 2, with advantage solely with hosts.
