Indian team has chosen to work on their shortcomings after a crushing loss to Australia in the second Test in Adelaide of the ongoing BGT 2024 Test series. Australia, on the other hand, decided to take a day off.
The third Test will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane from December 14 onwards, and with the series level 1-1, India will need to win atleast two of the remaining three Tests to keep their hopes alive for WTC 2025 final qualification.
The entire squad led by Rohit Sharma was present at the Adelaide Oval and went through an intense session.
As per the India Today report, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out to bat in the nets first. They were followed by the rest of the Indian batting order, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant. This could be an indication that Rohit Sharma continues to bat in the middle to let KL Rahul keep his opener's spot.
India was also given a little scare during the nets when Rishabh Pant was smacked on the helmet by a bouncer. Pant had to halt training and was treated by the team's medical staff. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, who were batting in the neighboring nets, paused their practice to see Pant.
However, the good news was that Pant returned to batting in the nets after receiving attention from the team.
The commentator stated that Virat Kohli concentrated on his backfoot game in the Adelaide nets. The hitter has been ejected several times for pressing on the front foot and edging the ball to the slips, and it appears that he has been attempting to address the issue.
