Day 2 of the ongoing second BGT 2024 Test between Australia and India in Adelaide has been quite an interesting one. Mitchell Marsh, an Australian all-rounder, avoided a close LBW decision that may have shifted the momentum in India's favor.

Following Marnus Labuschagne's dismissal by Nitish Kumar Reddy, the right-handed power hitter joined Travis Head in the middle. Marsh was quickly caught up in a dramatic on-field confrontation.

In the 58th over of Australia's first innings, just as Marsh approached the crease, Ravichandran Ashwin presented a chance for India. Ashwin delivered a well-crafted full-length delivery that hit Marsh on the front pad.

The ball appeared to be on target, and the Indian team promptly called for an LBW, believing they had trapped Marsh in front.

However, the on-field umpire was not convinced, believing there was further noise, probably from the bat, and rejected the appeal. Despite this, the Indians remained confident, and captain Rohit Sharma lost no time in requesting a review.

As the players watched, the television umpire took his time reviewing the film. While it appeared that the ball hit Marsh's pad first, there was some debate regarding whether it had made contact with the bat.

After watching the tape, the TV umpire encouraged the on-field umpire to stick with his original ruling of "not out," noting the impact of the umpire's call. India had to accept the verdict and, regrettably, lost a review throughout the process, which was a critical time in the Test.

However, an immediate playback following the DRS footage, shown from a different position, appeared to reveal that the ball certainly impacted the pad first.

However, another replay from a different angle was shown by the broadcaster and that confirmed that the ball hit the pad first and then the bat triggering a massive response by fans on social media. They slammed the TV umpire for being hasteful in his decision-making.
