Virat Kohli was at his aggressive best on day 2 of the second BGT 2024 Test in Adelaide between India and Australia. He was shushing the Adelaide Oval crowd after the fall of Marnus Labuschagne’s wicket.
Australia resumed from 86/1 on day 2 but soon lost Nathan McSweeney to Jasprit Bumrah for 39 runs. The star India pacer also removed Steve Smith for just 4 runs, caught behind on the leg side.
Then Labuschagne and Travis Head added 65 runs for the 4th wicket and troubled the Indian bowlers. Despite efforts from Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, and R Ashwin, the Australian duo continued to frustrate the visitors.
However, Nitish Kumar Reddy’s introduction into the bowling attack proved the game changer. Reddy made the much-needed breakthrough for India in his second over on Day 2, removing the dangerous Labuschagne for 64 runs.
The wicket came off a short, wide delivery that Labuschagne tried to cut hard, but Yashasvi Jaiswal made a superb, two-handed catch.
Virat Kohli ran down from the slips quickly to congratulate Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy. He hugged Jaiswal and then turned to the crowd and gestured for silence, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
