Australia PM with Team India and PM XI ahead of practice game in Canberra | XAustralian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed the Indian cricket team to Parliament House on Wednesday, where he had a brief conversation with star players Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Virat Kohli.

India team arrived in Canberra for the two-day pink-ball practice game against the PM XI that begins on November 30.

Earlier this week, the Indian team won the inaugural Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth, which boosted confidence. The warm-up match will provide skipper Rohit Sharma, who missed the opener in Perth, vital game time ahead of the Pink-ball Test in Adelaide, which begins December 6.

A video posted on the social networking platform X (previously Twitter) showed Indian captain Rohit Sharma presenting his teammates to the Prime Minister. During the introductions, Albanese briefly spoke with Bumrah and Kohli.

After the meeting, Albanese posted a photo with the players and expressed his excitement for the upcoming match.

"Big challenge ahead for the PM’s XI at Manuka Oval this week against an amazing Indian side. But as I said to PM @narendramodi, I’m backing the Aussies to get the job done," he wrote.

The last time India played a Pink-ball Test in Australia, they were bowled out for 36, a record low in the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar series. The encounter against the Prime Minister's XI would help India fine-tune their preparations for the next day-night Test in Adelaide.
