It was a day to forget for Virat Kohli in Mirpur, as the former Indian captain not only extended his poor run of form in Test cricket, but also dropped three catches offered by Litton Das.

On Saturday (December 24), Bangladesh resumed their innings at 7/0, still trailing India by 80 runs. The hosts were in quite a bit of bother at 113/6 before the fielding lapses by Kohli and some fine batting by Litton Das (73), Nurul Hasan (31) and Taskin Ahmed (31*) helped them to reach 231, and set a tricky target of 145 for India.

India lost their top three cheaply to be reduced to 29/3, when Kohli came out to bat at 5 to join Akshar Patel who was promoted to number four to negate the Bangladeshi spinners. Kohli looked to be unsure at the crease and was eventually dismissed for 1 off 22 balls by Mehidy Hasan with Mominul Haque taking a fine catch at short-leg.

Just as he was walking off disappointed, spinner Taijul Islam seemed to have said something inappropriate which made Kohli react furiously before the umpires and Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan stepped in to calm down the situation.

As Kohli left for the pavilion, Shakib was seen telling Taijul something along the lines of keeping his emotions under check.

India ended the day at 45/4, still needing 100 more runs to win the match and the series.
