BAN v IND 2022: “I was mixing my deliveries…” says Kuldeep Yadav after stunning spell on Day 2 at Chattogram

Kuldeep ran through the Bangladesh middle-order and returned with the figures of 4 for 33.

Kuldeep Yadav | TwitterWrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav produced a sensational spell, helping India reduce Bangladesh to 133/8 on Day 2 of the opening Test at Chattogram.

With his variations, Kuldeep ran through the Bangladesh middle-order and returned with the figures of 4 for 33 in his 10 overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim (28), Shakib Al Hasan (3), Nurul Hasan (16) and Taijul Islam were his victims.

Speaking after the second day’s play, Kuldeep admitted that he was nervous before bowling but was lucky to pick a wicket in his first over.

“I was a bit nervous at the start. I was a bit lucky to get the first wicket in the first over. After a couple of overs I started feeling good, I was mixing my deliveries and was getting good turn as well," Kuldeep told broadcasters.

The left-arm spinner further said that he hasn’t tweaked his action but he is just trying to be better with his rhythm.

“I haven’t done nothing much with my action. It has been a year now, just trying to be a bit better with my rhythm, which has helped me with my pace and turn. I have been working on both the angles, over and around," he added.

Kuldeep Yadav, who doesn’t get regular opportunities for India, revealed that he worked hard in domestic cricket to get better.

“I tried that when I played for India A a few months ago. So bowling around the wicket was good," he said.

Besides Kuldeep, Mohammed Siraj starred with the ball for India on Day 2. The right-arm pacer wreaked havoc on Bangladesh’s top-order, dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto (0), Litton Das (24) and Zakir Hasan (20) to return with the figures of 3 for 14 in his 9 overs.
