Umran Malik also hit Shakib Al Hasan on his body and helmet multiple times | TwitterThe second ODI of the three-match series between Bangladesh and India got underway at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on December 7, 2022. The hosts lead the series 1-0 thanks to an amazing victory in the first ODI which was played at the same venue.

Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and chose to bat first. While Bangladesh made one change, with Nasum Ahmed coming in, India had to make a forced change as Umran Malik replaced Kuldeep Sen, who complained of back stiffness. Also, Akshar Patel replaced Shahbaz Ahmed as well.

Mohammed Siraj gave India the perfect start as he first clean-bowled captain Litton for 7 runs and then accounted for the other opener Anamul Haque, who was out LBW for 11 runs. Najmul Hossain Shanto played some decent-looking shots in his 21-run knock.

But that came to an end thanks to an amazing delivery by Umran Malik, who was introduced after the powerplay overs were finished.

First Umran Malik made veteran Shakib Al Hasan hop, duck, and weave and hit him multiple times on his body thanks to some searing deliveries. The best of which came in the 12th over of the Bangladeshi innings.

Umran began by hitting Shakib on his back as he tried to duck on a short ball which was measured at 90 kph. But the highlight of the over was the last ball when Malik pinged the former Bangladeshi skipper on his helmet with a 143 kph snorter which rattled the batter.

While Umran continued his good work, he was fairly rewarded in his next over as Najmul Hossain Shanto was just too late to react to a 151 kph delivery, which sent his off-stump cartwheeling back. Malik celebrated as Shanto dragged himself back to the pavilion.
