BAN v IND 2022: COC predicted Team India playing XI for the second ODI

The second ODI will also be played in Mirpur, Dhaka on December 7.

Team India | GettyAfter a heartbreaking loss in the first ODI of the three-match series, the Indian team will be ready to go in the second match which will also be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka on December 7.

India lost a close contest by 1 wicket as Mehidy Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman added 51* runs for the last wicket to chase down a below-par target of 187 runs. India’s batting failed to come good on the sluggish pitch and bowling which was very good until the last ten overs, came undone under pressure.

Now Rohit Sharma and co. will be looking to draw level in the series and keeping this in mind, Team COC presents the Team India predicted playing XI for the second ODI in Dhaka.

The batting unit of India came undone on a pitch that was tough to bat on and more onus will be on the experienced pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan to give India a good, strong start. There is a bit of pressure on Dhawan given his poor strike rate and lack of runs in the last few games, but a good knock here might quell those fears.

“He is able to deliver,” Andy Flower explains why he rates KL Rahul very highly

Virat Kohli looked good in his short stay at the crease and there will be hopes of more runs from his willow. Shreyas Iyer’s short ball issue has now become a headache for him, as he got out to one even on the benign Dhaka pitch and he needs to find a way to get it out of his game.

Umran Malik's inclusion might help India change its bowling attack a bit | GettyLast time, India went with six proper bowlers and Washington Sundar batted at no.6, but the team management might now think about bringing in an additional batter for that comfort given how the pitch played. Rahul Tripathi might find himself making his debut for India and since he bowls a bit of leg spin, that might come in handy as well.

Sundar and Shahbaz Ahmed were excellent in the middle overs with the ball, keeping the Bangladeshi batters in check. Kuldeep Sen might not be able to keep his place as he proved a bit expensive.

Deepak Chahar was good with the new ball up front, but he crumbled under pressure in the final overs, while Shardul Thakur was the pick of the bowlers as he controlled the game well in the death overs.

Mohammed Siraj was very good on that pitch and possibly Umran Malik might come in to give the Indian bowling some more zing.

COC predicted Team India playing XI for the second ODI:

Rohit Sharma (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rahul Tripathi, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik
