The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to lodge an official complaint against Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha for his comments during the post-final press conference of the recent Asia Cup 2025. Pakistan was thrashed by 5 wickets by India in the summit clash on Sunday, September 28, to win their 9th Asia Cup trophy.
Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India, gave the Indian Army and the families of the 26 people killed in the Pahalgam terror incident his whole Asia Cup 2025 match fee.
The team would donate its match costs to the civilians impacted by India's "Operation Sindoor," which involves the Indian Armed Forces carrying out precision strikes to target terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, according to Pakistan captain Agha. Following the Pahalgam terror assault, this action was carried out.
"We, as a team, the whole team, we are donating our match fees to our civilians and our children who were affected in the Indian attack that happened (Operation Sindoor). We are all donating this to them," Agha announced at the end of his press conference after the final loss to India.
According to a Dainik Jagran report, the BCCI is now likely to complain to him, citing Salman’s statement as being political and controversial. According to the report, the comment raises a delicate topic that could garner international notice due to its violation of the Code of Conduct and the use of India's name.
Salman Agha, the captain of Pakistan, also defended Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Asian Cricket Council, during the press conference for removing the trophy from him after India refused to accept it.
Agha had said in the presser: "If you don't accept the trophy from the ACC president, how will you get it?"
