Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has decided to pay Haris Rauf's penalty after the International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed 30% fine on the speedster for using "abusive language" during the India-Pakistan Super 4 clash in the Asia Cup 2025, Samaa TV reported.

According to multiple reports, Rauf has been slapped with fine while Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan was let go of with a warning for his gun-shot celebration.

Amid the development, Samaa TV sources on Friday (September 26) claimed that the PCB chairman will personally cover the penalty amount.

Notably, the BCCI had officially filed a complaint with ICC and match referee Andy Pycroft against Farhan and Rauf for their provocative gestures last Sunday.

Farhan performed a gun-shot celebration after reaching his half-century in the first innings, while Rauf had a heated confrontation with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill in the fifth over of the chase.

Later in the Indian innings, Rauf was fielding near the boundary rope, where he responded to the jeers from Indian fans by lifting his fingers to indicate "0-6", a reference to Pakistan's baseless claims that they downed six Indian fighter jets during the cross-border tussle after India's Operation Sindoor in May this year.

The BCCI demanded strict action against both players for conduct that they believe crossed the line of acceptable on-field behaviour.

Meanwhile, the PCB also lodged two complaints with the apex body against India skipper Suryakumar Yadav. PCB was against Suryakumar's remark after the group-stage game on September 14 when he expressed solidarity with the Pahalgam terror attack victims. According to them, he made it a political issue.

"Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery. Hope they continue to inspire us all, and we give them more reasons on the ground whenever we get an opportunity to make them smile," Suryakumar had said after the win.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Suryakumar has been found guilty by the ICC of violating the code of conduct for his Pahalgam remark. The Indian captain pleaded not guilty, but the ICC match referee, Richie Richardson, dismissed it. Just like Rauf, Suryakumar was also fined 30 per cent of his match fee.

The report further claimed that the PCB had demanded that the ICC enforce a Level 4 sanction, which is reserved for the most serious breaches of the ICC Code of Conduct on Suryakumar.
