During the cricket talk show "Game On Hai", former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar made a hilarious blooper that went viral on the internet.
India and Pakistan are slated to square off in the Asia Cup 2025 Final, scheduled for Sunday (September 28) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Ahead of the marquee encounter, Akhtar discussed Pakistan’s chances against the arch-rivals, saying: “If Pakistan get Abhishek Bachchan out early on in a hypothetical situation, then what is going to happen with the middle-order? Their middle-order hasn’t performed well.”
Shoaib’s slip of tongue left the show host and fellow panelists in splits, who wasted no time in correcting him. He had meant to say Abhishek Sharma, who has taken the Asia Cup by storm with his explosive batting at the top of the order, but instead named Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan.
After the video of the gaffe went viral, it also caught Bachchan’s attention. He reacted in a cheeky manner, taking a dig at Pakistan’s struggles against India in the ongoing continental tournament.
Taking to X, Abhishek Bachchan wrote: “Sir, with all due respect… don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket.”
Pakistan have lost their last seven matches to India across ODIs and T20Is, including twice in the Asia Cup by seven wickets and six wickets.
Abhishek Sharma was the nemesis for the Men in Green in both the group-stage and Super 4 fixtures, returning with swashbuckling knocks of 31 (13 balls) and 74 (39 balls).
