The incident where India and Pakistan refused to shake hands at the conclusion of the Asia Cup 2025 Match 6 is turning into a major scandal. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now contacted the ICC to demand that the official be dismissed for his inaction after the Pakistan cricket team protested to the match referee about India's behavior.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan captain Salman Agha didn’t shake hands during the toss. After Yadav hit the winning runs, he, along with Shivam Dube, walked back to the pavilion without shaking hands with the Pakistani team.

Indian players closed the doors of their dressing room as Pakistani players waited for them to come out and have the customary handshakes.

Both board members and former Pakistani cricket players have taken offense at the move, and Andy Pycroft, a seasoned player in this position, is feeling the brunt of it.

"The PCB has complained to the ICC regarding violations by the match referee of the ICC Code of Conduct and the MCC Laws pertaining to the Spirit of Cricket. The PCB has demanded the immediate removal of the match referee from the Asia Cup," PCB and Asia Cup chief Mohsin Naqvi posted on X.

As India didn’t shake hands with Pakistan, the Men in Green captain, Salman Agha, didn’t appear for the post-match presentation ceremony. Suryakumar Yadav mentioned the Pahalgam terror attack victims and dedicated the win over Pakistan to the Indian armed forces.
