After India's top order faltered against Australia in the first ODI in Perth, the spotlight moved to Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer as the Men in Blue practiced at the Adelaide Oval on Tuesday ahead of the second ODI on Thursday.
As per RevSportz, rains were expected in Adelaide on Tuesday morning, and India was scheduled to train indoors at the Adelaide Oval. However, the ground workers were quick to prepare the outdoor nets as soon as the rain ceased when the squad arrived at the venue. Rohit went first, followed by Iyer. Soon, Gill and Kohli joined them.
Virat Kohli batted for 45 minutes and showed high intensity as he faced the throwdown specialists. He talked to them and was locked in to deliver his best. He played some crisp drives and stellar pull shots, showing that the skill hadn’t dwindled.
Rohit looked in brilliant touch, and while there were some edges, it could be termed as a positive nets session. India captain Shubman Gill talked with Rohit Sharma and shared technical inputs during their session.
Shreyas Iyer, after being peppered with short balls by Australian bowlers, was seen fine-tuning his game against bouncers and short balls in his ribs. While he was generally good at pulling the ball, there were a few times when he appeared uncomfortable against a steep bounce.
All three, Virat, Rohit, and Gill, were captured batting in the nets at the same time, and the video went viral on social media in no time.
