Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about India's historic Test series win in Australia while virtually addressing students of Tezpur University. He told the students to take inspiration from the win, where India kept on fighting despite being cornered.
India had lost key players because of injury, their full-time captain was not with them, and a bunch of inexperienced players had to do the job, but they didn't disappoint. At Gabba, where Australia hadn't lost a single match since 1988, the team peaked their performance to break the undefeated streak.
"The Indian team in Australia is a great example of the change in approach. Even after losing the first test, they continued fighting," the Prime Minister said in a virtual address to the outgoing students of Tezpur University.
"Even after suffering injuries, they kept fighting for wins and kept looking for new solutions. Some players may have been less experienced, but their bravery was no less. They created history with the right talent and temperament," PM Modi said.
Indian cricket team were humiliated in the first match at Adelaide. They were bowled out on 36 but the team made a comeback in the next match at MCG with a win.
"We should learn to take risks and overcome fear of failure," the Prime Minister added.
