AUS v IND 2020-21: Shubman Gill lauded by the cricket fraternity for his magnificent 91

Gill fell 9 runs short off his maiden Test hundred after edging a delivery off Nathan Lyon.

India's opener Shubman Gill impressed the cricket fraternity with his knock against Australia on a tough day five pitch at Gabba on Tuesday (January 19). Gill scored 91 runs before edging one to slip off Australia spinner Nathan Lyon.

Gill took on Mitchell Starc in 46th over and smashed him for a six and couple boundaries. It opened the possibility of his maiden Test hundred but unfortunately, he eventually fell 9 runs short in the 48th over.

The 21-year-old took the responsibility after India lost senior batsman Rohit Sharma early in the chase. From 18/1, Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara put up a partnership of 114 runs.
